Planning is the Key to Success Especially With Weight Loss Goals
How many times have you half-heartedly started a diet only to end up giving up because you didn’t see immediate results?
It’s been said that if you fail to plan you plan to fail. That saying can have a lot of merit to it. Changing any ingrained habit can be difficult and frustrating if you have no plan.
If you don’t plan out your weight loss strategy how will you know how to get to your goals? How will you know when you’ve reached your milestones?
How will you know what to do if something unexpected comes up? Having a plan will make weight loss more manageable and make meal planning a lot easier too.
What kinds of things should you plan?
Plan your meals. You can do this on a weekly or even a monthly basis, whichever is easiest for you. There are a ton of Paleo books that can help you with that.
Plan your workouts and your weight loss goals. Use a calendar so you’ll know when you need to step up your workout routine.
Plan time to stay motivated. Not many people plan their motivational efforts, but staying motivated is a huge key to success.
Plan to do something or read something each day that keeps you motivated.
Planning Meals
This part of planning may take the longest in the beginning, but once you do it a few times it will become easier. Here is one tip: One Weight Loss Tip May Change Your Life
Start by finding your favorite recipes that are quick, easy and contain ingredients you want to use in your weight loss plan.
Will you go low calorie or low carbohydrate? Knowing this beforehand will help you find delicious recipes that are perfect for you and your goals. I chose a low carbohydrate Paleo plan…
Plan your grocery list around your new eating plan. Organize your meals in advance and put them into containers or zip lock bags in the refrigerator or freezer. Just pull them out when needed. That added convenience can go a long way to your executing a successful weight loss program.
Plan healthy snacks. There will be times when you need something quick and easy. You also need to have a snack between meals to keep hunger at bay and keep your metabolism going during the day. If you have healthy snacks on hand it will make it easier to avoid having the wrong snacks.
Planning Workouts
Planning workouts doesn’t have to be difficult. Get a weekly and monthly calendar so you can keep track of where you’re at, your progress and the goals you want to reach.
If you start off walking one mile every day, before long you’ll want to increase that to one and a half or two miles. Decide when that goal feels attainable for you.
Will you be able to walk two miles starting on week 3 or do you need longer? Maybe start walking two miles during the second month.
Whatever progression you are comfortable with is best in the beginning stages. Then as you build the habit up and gain momentum, your natural progression will speed up.
These goals need to be attainable, but they also need to challenge you. Don’t over do it, but do strive to increase your distance or your time at weekly intervals or bi-monthly.
Planning Motivation
It can be hard to stay motivated. You’ll need a daily plan for it. Here is a free ebook on site: Weight Loss, Maintaining High Motivation Is Key To Lose Weight
Start each day with something motivational to get you revved up so you’ll be more willing to tackle that workout and stay on track with your weight loss eating plan.
The mental game, staying motivated can be the most difficult part of weight loss but if you take the time to add it to your daily routine you’ll soon start craving it and you’ll look forward to it.
You may have days where it will seem impossible to get motivated and you really aren’t in the mood to listen to some upbeat person who never seems to have a bad day.
Expect those days, so you can deal with them and not beat yourself up if you skip a day or two. Get back on track as soon as possible though or you’ll fall right back into your old habits.
Planning to lose weight may be something new to you, but it will help you reach your goal, keep you on target and it does get easier over time.
So, if you have weight loss goals to achieve, a solid plan for motivating yourself is where you want to start. Don’t start without it…
The key to successful weight loss and goal achievement is your ability to motivate yourself and stay motivated.
