Take Personal Responsibility. Own Your Life!

commit-to-the-goal-yesWant to live your best life? Be all you can be? Your best life will come at a price. Everything in life has it’s price tag…

But, that is a good thing.

Too many times you (and me) will try to put the blame on others, for our weaknesses, or our circumstances. It is time to take your life back…

Take Personal Responsibility. Own Your Life And Empower Yourself!

This next statement is also pretty strong and may sound a bit foreign to you, but here it is.

.
You are the cause. And your life experiences are the results. You determine the direction of your life. You are in control of your life.

When you play the blame game or become the victim – you weaken yourself. You give away your power. If you are not able to change your life up until now, you have probably been giving your power away to someone or something else.

Many of us tend to blame something else, or someone else or our fate for all bad experiences in our life such as abusive childhood, loss of a loved one or broken relationships. We live in a society that seems to be looking to assign blame for the events in our lives, rather than to accept them, evaluate them, and fix them.

We all face hardships at some point in our lives. Some of us own responsibility and get on with our lives, while many of us blame others and stay stagnant, stuck in the past.

When you take personal responsibility for yourself, you take your power back and you empower yourself to change.

Because you are the one holding yourself back, then you also have the power to release yourself from these past bonds, and take a new path.

When you are not in control of yourself, or your life, that leaves you powerless, helpless to change. Blaming is a dis-empowering attitude. It is a negative self talk that will destroy you ultimately.

If you think by blaming others for your life you are getting away from problems you are completely wrong.

Your life problems would stay the same and recur again and again as long as you make someone else responsible for your life.

You pay the price every day you cannot change. You give others power to control you and your life.

So your life problems would tend to stay the way they are until you take back your power, and claim full responsibility for your emotions, actions and life as a whole.

True empowerment is taking responsibility for your life so that you are free to do whatever you want to do and be anything you choose to be. Give yourself the permission and the power to do so.

When you take control – you are in control. No one else can take this away from you.

Here are 4 tips to empower yourself:

freedom1) Make your own choices – Life is full of choices and you have the freedom to choose. You learn through trial and error. Be bold and accept the outcome of your decisions. If your choice is correct, be happy. If not, do not blame yourself or others. Instead, analyse where you went wrong and correct yourself. The next time around, you may be able to make the right choices.

2) Practice deep breathing – If you make it a habit to practice deep breathing throughout the day, you would have clarity in your thoughts. You feel more relaxed to think clearly and make good judgements of your situations and make better decisions. Oxygenate your brain…

3) Feel grateful – Instead of focusing on your problems look around you and realize how blessed you are to have nature bestow you good health, sunshine, food, good relationships, fresh air, etc. When you feel grateful for these things every day, you are convinced that life is good and abundance is your birthright.

4) Develop mental awareness – Observe your thoughts. Are they good or bad? Are they positive or negative? What if you have negative thoughts? You can still control them when you become aware of them. We can’t stop them from coming, but we can sure stop dwelling on the negative. We can switch focus to what we want in a heart beat. Try it out now! Think about your biggest goal, how you will feel when you reach it.

Empower yourself by being aware of your positive and negative thoughts, and act accordingly to make better choices.

Just know that no one else can take away your power to control your thoughts unless you release it to them,  because you are the captain of your ship, the master of your destiny.

So, Own Your Life! Be the solution, not the problem…
