Motivation, The Heart Of Self Improvement
Pain may sometimes be the reason why people change.
Getting flunked grades make us realize that we need to study.
Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income.
Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments.
It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.
With the countless negativities the world brings about, how do we keep motivated? Here are tips from A to Z on motivation and staying motivated when you most need it.
A – Achieve and work on your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
B – Believe in yourself, and in what you can do, when you set your mind to it.
C – Consider every angle and aspect of what you are doing. Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sun from both sides.
D – Don’t give up and don’t give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, and it is said that he failed more than ten thousand times before he perfected the incandescent light bulb.
E – Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need the money. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy.
F – Family and Friends – life’s greatest treasures. Don’t lose sight of them, in the end they are what is truly important.
G – Go the extra mile. Give more than what is enough. When does motivation and self improvement take place at work? At home? At school? The answer: whenever you exert extra effort in making things work.
H – Hang on to your dreams. These little stars will be your driving force, your magnificent obsession.
I – Ignore those who try to weaken or destroy you. Don’t let other people get the best of you. Stay away from toxic people – the kind of false friend who hates to hear about your success.
J – Just be yourself. The key to your personal success is just to be yourself. You will be a poor second being someone else. And . . . the key to failure is to try to please everyone else instead of yourself.
K – Keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a person is motivated, he sees the light at the end of the tunnel, eventually he sees the harsh life finally clearing, paving the way to self improvement and joy.
L – Learn to love yourself. Love yourself first and only then can you love others. Now isn’t that simple?
M – Make things happen. momentum builds on making things work. Motivation happens when your dreams are put into work clothes.
N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Honour you and others. Always play a fair game.
O – Open your eyes. People mostly don’t see things as they truly are. They see things in 2 ways – how they want things to be, and how they should be. Be different, see how things really are, then see them as your want them to be, then make them as you now see them.
P – Practice makes perfect. Perfect practice leads to higher motivation. It also lets us learn and helps us to discover how can we go forward from our mistakes. Mistakes are sometimes necessary in order for us to see what the right path is.
Q – Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate – are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner? And you never fail unless you quit. Don’t quit.
R – Ready yourself. Motivation also comes from preparation. We must hear and listen to the little voice within us telling us to get started now. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.
S – Stop procrastinating. Overcome your feelings of the moment. Push forward, and succeed!
T – Take control of your life. Discipline or self control lives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in your self improvement.
U – Understand others. If you know how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. We have been given two ears and one mouth. Try to understand first, and to be understood second.
V – Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat in dry dock. It is not going anywhere soon.
W – Want it more than anything. Internalize how much you want it. No one can drive you like you can drive yourself, especially though the tough times.
X – X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to give “extras” in your life, like extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on. Let X mean that you will always give extra.
Y – You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you’re just going to spend it once. You are enough.
Z – Zero in on your dreams and go for them. Now, that you have no excuses left, go for it now!
