15 Important Life Practices

15 Important life lessons to know and practice…

All your life, true or not, you have probably been force fed a list of clichés and sayings from your parents or others that you’ve heard a million times and sometimes dismissed over the years for one reason or another.

The ironic thing is that there is usually a nugget of truth to be gleaned from these words, and if you’d paid attention, you just might have learned something. If you were anything like me, you never listened either.  🙂

Here is a list of the most obvious clichés ever. You choose which ones you want to believe.

.
1.    If you don’t give people respect, you won’t get it in return:
People want to be treated with respect, and when you do this, you win their confidence in you. If you don’t respect yourself, no one else will either.

2.    Nothing good in life comes without a fight:
It’s kind of annoying, but definitely true. Victory just feels better when you know you had to fight for it.

3.    Good things do happen to good people:

This is important, how many bad people stay at the top for long? Not too many. They can weasel their way up the ladder, but the ride down is always much quicker.

4.    Karma is real:
You don’t want to find out the hard way that you should have been more giving and caring. Life is a boomerang for sure…

5.    Treat others as you want to be treated:
If you act like a jerk, people will treat you as such. And you’ll live a very lonely life.

6.    Never forget how lucky you are to be alive:
Too bad it usually takes a near brush with death to remember this one.

7.    Always look on the bright side of life:
If you look for the good, you’ll find it.

8.    Respect your elders:

They’ve been there, done that. So much can be learned from their mistake and missteps; you can’t afford to not respect them for making it through alive.

9.    Listen, don’t just talk:

You can learn a lot more from listening than from talking.

10.    Don’t be afraid to fail:

How will you ever know, if you never tried? Failure can be the greatest learning tool ever. Failure is only feedback.

11.    Live each day like it’s your last:
You never know when it’s all going to end, so don’t put off doing something you’ve been dreaming about until it’s too late.

12.    To get love, you must give it:

The more love you put out there, the more will be returned. This is a fact.

13.    If you don’t believe it, no one will either:
Be confident in your decisions and yourself, and others will respect you more.

14.    Live in the now:
Stop dwelling on the past, and looking to the future! If you don’t pay attention now, there might not be a future for you.

15.    Kill them with kindness:
To be kind is to be divine.

Truer words were never spoken. Take what you will from them, but beware, ignoring them doesn’t make them any less true.
