How To Start Thinking Positive

Here’s a tip on how to start thinking positive immediately…

Stop Thinking About The Wrong Things!

Easier said than done, right?

Creating a positive mindset and practicing positive thought is a very hot topic these days and for a very good reason. If you ever want to have much in this life, you will need to begin focusing on the right things.

Thinking Positive is proven to actually help you be a happier person. You become someone who doesn’t let stress get to them like other people. If you have been a negative thinker for a very long time though, it can be difficult to transition to positive thinking.

The key is you simply have to make yourself do it. It will feel very strange. You will fight it at first because it does not feel “normal”. It doesn’t magically happen because you want it to. It requires effort, and persistent repetition over time. It requires work. Are you up for that?

But really, the most important thing you can do at first is to stop thinking about the wrong things.

Your mind can only hold one thought at a time, so make it a positive one. When you start thinking your habitual negative thoughts and you will, switch over to a more positive, empowering thought right away.

Have a list ready of things (goals) you want to have, be or do, and think about those, and how you are going to have them no matter what. Don’t beat yourself up for having a negative thought. Just move through them as quickly as you can. Don’t dwell on them.

What are the wrong things to think about?
Well, that can be anything really. Negative thinking can draw you in on any topic.

You will be assaulted with negative political dramas, bad news programs, and negative life stories from your friends or co-workers.

They can hit you with a barrage of negative happenings in the world at any given time. Fear, doubt, negativity all make for great stories…

If you do get wrapped up in those things and keep them on your mind most of the day, you will never live the life you want to live.

What you focus on is what you get. Successful people think about their goals and how to achieve them most of the time. Napoleon Hill states that you will become what you think about most of the time.

Crowd out negative, disempowering thoughts as soon as you realize they are there. They will come into your mind, but you don’t have to pay attention to them. Thinking positive thoughts or creating positive affirmations, will take the place of those disempowering thoughts.

You will have a hard time creating more happiness and positive thoughts, if you’re focusing on negative stuff around you.

Watching television is another factor that can lead to thinking negatively. Rarely are there good wholesome programs available to watch.

Bad news and human dramas seem to populate the media. Much of the reality series are simply cut-throat methods to eliminate the competition, and are not conducive to a good a good attitude.

People get way too wrapped up in the drama of fake people or characters on television. They allow this to bleed over into their own life and reality by seeing the public, as a whole, in the same manner of these drama shows.

You may not believe that these things affect the way you think, but they do. Over time these thoughts seep into your subconscious mind and become part of your habitual thinking process.

Maybe you have a habit of expecting everything to go wrong. You don’t want to get your hopes up because you may be let down if something falls through. You fear failure and disappointment.

Or maybe one little thing does go wrong, and you feel like it’s the end of the world even though it could be just a minor mishap.

Even if everything doesn’t magically start going right, is that the end of the world? Is it really worth getting so upset over?

There is a saying, “Don’t sweat the small stuff… and remember that it is all small stuff.” This too shall pass. 🙂

People who have a positive attitude have just as many problems and mishaps as everyone else. It’s how they deal with these issues that sets them apart. They decide what’s really important to them, what they really want, and they set about getting it. They do not let obstacles sway their determination to get their goal. They have developed  the habit of thinking positive.

If it’s anything less than major or life threatening, it simply isn’t worth their time or effort to get upset over.

Many great thinkers throughout time have stressed the importance of guarding your mind. This is more true today than ever. If you guard your mind and only allow good things into it, only good things can come out of it. It is a very noisy world out there.

You will reap what you sow. If you plant weeds in your mind, you will harvest weeds. The more you feed negative thoughts, the stronger they become.

The more you feed positive thoughts, the more you will have. Choose your thoughts wisely, and focus on what’s right and good in your life.

Remember the thoughts you keep feeding your mind will turn into the harvest you will gather. Plant thoughtfully keeping the end in mind…
