The most important part of time management is the ability to stay focused on your task.

Scheduling your appointments, setting goals, keeping to do lists and prioritizing your tasks is clearly very helpful in keeping track of what needs to be done.

But if you don’t stay focused on the task at hand, having everything organized won’t help you to reach your goals.

When working toward managing your time, you must look at everything you do, whether work related or personal. Time or (Self) Management is a skill for living more life, not just more work.

Learning time management skills will help in other areas of your life. When you learn to manage your time, you will eliminate stress and fatigue, helping you to live more healthfully.

You can be more successful in your career, you will have more mental clarity, and your life will have more meaning. You will feel better about yourself and others, making your relationships with those around you more enjoyable.

success-aheadTime management doesn’t mean that you are always busy, it means you are getting things done. You are living more life.

If you learn to prioritize your projects and goals it will help you to avoid wasting time on unimportant things, leaving you with time to accomplish those things that are important to you.

Schedule tasks requiring more energy or work during those times when you are at your peak, and save those tasks that don’t require as much for your slower times.

Take care of important projects right away. Focus on one thing at a time until completed.

Don’t put things off. This only adds to your workload, making it more difficult to get everything done. Remember, to keep records or lists of your activities.

Keeping track helps to avoid missed appointments and deadlines, which only adds to your stress.

Don’t try to do everything yourself. Often times, we take on more and more because we don’t want to disappoint others, or we think that only we can do it right.

Then we become stressed out and tired while trying to do it all.

Learn to say NO. And . . . learn to ask others for help. Delegate tasks that others can do.

Use some of these tips to get more out of life. Practice them regularly.

Work hard. Play hard. Live large, and joyfully extract everything you can from every hour you can.

Always guard your time because once spent, you can never replace it . . .

Time is a non-renewable resource, until they invent time travel that is.  🙂
