Tough Goal? No Doubts Allowed. Just Do It!

How To Achieve Tough Goals

From time to time I pull out my old book, “Do It! Let’s Get Off Our Buts” by Peter McWilliams. Today I ran across this quote again.

It reminded me that sometimes we just have to be courageous and have faith in our abilities to persevere and win through even if we are uncertain of the outcome. We thrive on certainty, and when little doubts creep in and we let them stay there, our confidence takes a direct hit.

Think about it rationally….is there any real reason that you couldn’t do it, especially if you pulled out all the stops and really went for it?… If you immersed yourself in your goal and focused on how you could make it happen?

.
Then go for it. Stay positive. Drive those nagging doubts out and concentrate on all the ways you can succeed. Then take the actions necessary to move forward.

Sometimes we just have to go Do It!

“When in doubt, make a fool of yourself. There is a microscopically thin line between being brilliantly creative and acting like the most gigantic idiot on earth. So what the heck, leap!” — Cynthia Heimel

And then . . . There’s another good affirmation To use against Nagging Doubts when you begin to think that you can’t or shouldn’t achieve a goal.

If you have ever doubted your ability to achieve a certain goal, this one is for you. I have persevered to my goals many times by using this certain affirmation.

Emotionally charged up with determination, say this affirmation over and over to yourself as many times as it takes to work.

“This stuff is easy, I can do this!” , This stuff is easy, I can do this! , etc.

Believe it, put some soul into it. . . . It works because your brain can only hold one thought at a time.

Why make it a negative thought that will not help you or get you where you want to go? (Although those seem to come easiest in times of weakness which everyone has faced at some time or other. Grins.)

Positively affect your thoughts by employing empowering sayings and planning to use them at times of weakness.

Plan ahead for these difficult times. You can be sure that they will come up time and time again, especially if your goals are magnificent. Create a list of affirmations, Quotes and empowering questions so that you have them readily available when you need them.

Just pull out your list of motivators any time you need them. You will begin to notice a huge difference in your belief level when you stay pumped and in the game. Athletes use these types of affirmations all the time to get their best when they need it. They get mentally in the game…

So, Go For It!  Like Nike says, “Just do It! “, with all the passion and determination you can muster, and that’s a lot!
