Back In The Saddle

a-perfect-dayA Perfect Work Day

Squared away and back in the saddle again after what seems an eternity.

Lately it seemed as if I couldn’t get into the zone.

Today was a great day. From the time I got up until the time I arrived back home everything went smooth as silk.

Rarely do work days go so well, so problem free, or are so productive as I experienced today. It was just phenomenal!

Have you ever had one of those days where everything went according to plan and worked out almost perfectly?

Where it seems the universe was conspiring to make a fantastic day for you?

Of course you have! Well, when you had perfect days, what did you do to make it come out that way? What worked for you?

Great days don’t make themselves, do they? For me, I had everything planned out to the letter last night and when I woke up this morning, I hit the ground running!

I spent some time just before I went to bed last night thinking about how I was going to move through this day, customer by customer. I imagined exactly how I wanted it to work. I organized everything I would need to power through, and today was awesome!

The last couple of weeks have been tough to get used to. I’ve rearranged some of my goals for this quarter and have been having a difficult time adjusting my work schedule I guess, up until now. I have been preparing mentally for the increased work load my new goals would bring.

I knew what I wanted, I knew what I had to do and I knew how much time it would take. And, I allowed for some “what if” time just in case and plowed right in. I have been doing this all week.

Right off the bat, I felt that nothing could stop me today! I just moved from call to call, took my regular breaks, and then . . . I was done! What a terrific day! (Makes me wonder why I don’t take the proper time to do this every night. Make a note to self . . .)

Don’t get me wrong, I have some awesome days, just that this one really stands out production wise. It topped off a perfect week and a hugely productive one.

There is nothing new here as far as profound knowledge. I took the time to prepare ahead mentally and didn’t let anything get me off track. I just expected everything to go smoothly and handled everything in stride all day, really all week.

What makes a perfect day for you? You have had them before, what made it happen? What do you have to do to prepare mentally and physically to make this happen?

Do you need to plan your next day’s tasks ahead, like the night before, or the week before? Do you need to get your attitude right so that when you get up in the morning, you hit the ground running? What is it that works for you?

Find out, spend some time thinking about it, and then just do it! This is a wonderful feeling and to tell you the truth, I think I could get addicted to this much fun. I certainly could get used to this!

Work is so much more enjoyable when you are super productive. :-)))

Here is to you, I hope you have a perfect day. In fact I hope you have many perfect days that turn into perfect weeks.

See you next time.
